Travel with Bangkok Airport Link

Then you can consider your self as ‘fortunate’ as The State Railway of Thailand opened The Suvarnabhumi Airport Rail Link for all inbound and outbound travelers in August 2010.

SARL which stands for Suvarnabhumi Airport Rail Link is a rail line linked from the airport to down town. Starting from Suvarnabhumi airport it leads to Phaya Thai station via Makkasan city air terminal. This service consist of two express lines through Makkasan city air terminal to the airport which takes only 15 minutes to reach the terminus and the other through Phaya Thai to the airport that reaches within 18 minutes to reach the end terminal comfortably. The option of travelling in the commuter rail service is possible in the city line train from Phaya Thai to the Suvarnabhumi Airport for a lesser fare.

The Suvarnabhumi Airport Express line Station provides the facility where the passengers are able to conveniently load their baggage to the baggage car which transfers them straight to various airlines from the Makkasan Station it self. The Suvarnabhumi City Line travels from Phaya Thai to the airport within 30 minutes. It stops at six stations such as Rajprarop Station, Makkasan Station, Ramkhamhaeng Station, Hua Mark Station, Ban Thap Chang Station and Lad Krabang Station which covers a distance of 28 Km altogether. The service of both Express line and the city line are provided from 6.00 to 24.00 everyday.

The charges of travelling depends on the distance but the standard City line fare starts from 15 baht to 45 baht while the Express line fare has a flat rate of 150 baht. A 20% discount from the normal fare is awarded to the students with a student pass who are below 23 years of age and the senior citizens with a senior pass who are above 60 years of age until end of year 2011.

The passengers are directed to the Suvarnabhumi underground station which is built under the Airport where they are able to access the airport from the station alone. Therefore with the Suvarnabhumi Airport Rail link it is going to be a more comfortable experience from the minute you step out of the plane until you say good bye to the beautiful country of Bangkok, Thailand.
