2013 Wedding Ceremony on Elephant-Back – Surin

Wedding Ceremony on Elephant-Back is held on Valentine’s day at Elephant Study Center, Tah Toom District, Surin Province. The ceremony, known as “Sud Tae Ceremony”, is the traditional wedding of the local tribe called “Guay”. The highlight during the ceremony is the marriage registration on the elephant-back, symbolizing the love of the couples on Valentine’s Day. It is believed that the wedding ceremony on the elephant-back will bring about good fortune and prosperity to the couples.
